Census Information

Dear Business Owners,

The U.S. Census started mid-March just around the same time as we all started dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. So, it’s not surprising that response rates are down throughout the country with Arkansas being one of the least well-performing states. You can help us reverse this trend.

Businesses can help “Get Out the Count” by taking simple, effective actions to encourage employees and community members to participate. Linked here are some resources to help you, your employees, and your customers get counted.

The census will be the single greatest source of data that American businesses will use to learn about the market, demographics, and growth potential throughout the next decade. The federal funds that each state receives based on our census data influences local, state, and regional investments in areas such as education, workforce development, infrastructure, and healthcare. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that everyone in Corning is counted.

Future business location decisions are also tied to census results so it’s critical that our numbers help answer some of these questions. Will the company have access to the materials needed to drive revenue? Will an area’s roads and water systems meet the demands of production? How prepared is the average resident to engage in the workforce? Businesses rely on census information to answer these and many other questions.

To help increase opportunity over the next decade and beyond, the Corning Chamber of Commerce encourages you to do your part to ensure a complete and accurate census count in our state.

If you have questions or want to be connected to additional resources, please let us know. We would be happy to help.
